If the demand this morning crashed the servers at our ISP before they could adjust… this is a clue to how epic this is gonna be.
Plenty of food at this event. Two blocks in the SoFA district will be shut down for this.
Get there early. First band is at 6pm.
Note #1: ONLY Pre-Approved Vendors are welcome to show up. If you have NOT been approved by SJBP already, please do NOT try to come in. You will be asked to leave.
Note #2: For those driving in, please see the DT SJ Parking Map.
Hint: Look for orange spaces on the map, cheapest parking.

I hope my new homebrew light is bright enough this time around. Last time, only 1/2 the people made comments. Is 2,200 lumens enough? Let’s find out.

May good cheer be as abundant as common sense.
May we join together as a bicycle community and demonstrate how much positive energy can be so well behaved.
And so well lit; may the dusk be bright with all of our lights as this is our night to shine!
Peace though music.
Amen
I REALLY need to ride my bicycle.

@Townie Bill – Is that your “irish” showing?
I’d just say we’re all lucky that LCL put together a cool free street concert…. that our volunteers and vendors got together to support bp…. and that it’ll be hysterical to hear all those whistles tomorrow night.
Should be a killer time. Shout out to all the BIRDs in the volunteer circle and those non-BIRDs backing em up on the ride. Shout out to the support of the SJPD and Milpitas PD. I hope everyone gives a “thumbs up” and wave of support for em on the ride.

I’m on the fence whether I should go or not. None of my friends can make it and never been to a party alone before.

FOR *%$^@ SAKE, CAN YOU PLEASE START POSTING THE ROUTE / DIRECTIONS IN SOME FORMAT THAT DOESN’T SUCK SO MUCH??? HOW BOUT JUST A FREAKIN’ TEXT FILE INSTEAD OF THESE GAWD-AWFUL GOOGLE DOCS / PDF’S? AND MAP MY RIDE IS AD-SPAMMED GARBAGE. WHY DO YOU MAKE THIS SO HARD?
[Moderator/tr: By all means step up and volunteer to make it happen "MEH" cuz we'd like a better map too]
Mike

RS
May 21, 2010
@MEH – You want cheese with that wine? You could help the ride 5 ways imho:
1) stop the “you guys should” attitude
2) make the map
3) print out a bunch
4) convince others to print out extras
5) hand em out
This ride only survives cuz the volunteers, BIRDs and non-BIRDs alike, make it happen. You want it better, own it.

If I’d seen it in time, I would have made a plain text file out of the PDF directions.
As with too much software, the only folks who have the information to make better docs are the only people who don’t need the better docs, so they don’t get made. Show me *how* I can own it and I’ll own it.

I just want to thank everybody who participated in and volunteered for this month’s bike party. This was my second ride, and while it wasn’t easy (I’m not a small girl) I never felt alone or abandoned by the group. Thanks for your good vibes, and playful spirit.

The easy way to get around the map my ride issue is to print screen the map and dump it into powerpoint or some other program and crop and edit the size to fit on the page/pages you want. Takes about 4-5 minutes. It may seem like a lot of time in todays “want it now/deserve it now” atmosphere but “free” normally comes with a price.
I thought tonights ride went really well! A good turn out and not many belligerent drunks. Thanks to all the volunteers that made it happen.
[moderator/tr: we do need a few volunteers to take turns creating a simple one click printable map for us for every ride. next ride is a June 4th SubZERO ride]
