Tonight, our second anniversary ride, struck yet another new mark in South Bay history, as four thousand riders (see count) hit the streets to build community through bicycling. Happy Birthday, Bike Party!
Wow. Bike party riders really stepped up to the plate tonight, to throw together an amazing ride with some fantastic press coverage. The best part of Bike Party is that we keep changing and evolving to meet the needs of San Jose’s growing bike community.
Ride #21: 17.25mi, 1,535 riders. All of this impressive growth brings some staggering problems. What can we do to clean up the ride, both literally and figuratively?
Wow, what a night! 1,000 riders! So many good thoughts and good times…this really is what it is all about. Major props go to the many, many volunteers that make the rides flow – we will turn this valley into a Bike City yet!
Yet again, 400-500 of us united on the streets last night to celebrate the best community-on-wheels this town has ever seen. We have some props and some proposals: Props: Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department, who awesomely corralled our ride down Los Gatos Boulevard and then back up Santa Cruz/Winchester by blocking traffic on side streets.
