Help make our 2 year Anniversary ride the best one yet!
We need volunteer riders for all aspects of the rides!
You’ve ridden SJBP several times, you know what needs to be done to help us …
(such as creating directional signs, then posting them before the ride and picking them up after the ride)
To take action, tell us what you can do in one of the following ways:
1. Becoming a fan on our BIRDs facebook page (rides are listed: self-register/sign up!)
2. Sign up on the next Facebook Evening Test Ride sign-up and show your pretty face at the test ride.
3. Sign up to volunteer at the Get Involved page.
4. Email us at sjbikeparty@gmail.com or testrides@sjbikeparty.org.

Are we going to post Scott Herhold’s column from the Mercury News up somewhere? It’s a pretty good write-up.

I believe it’s already posted, but perhaps not prominently enough? Which BIRDs pre-ride are you going to Ryan?

A few suggestions on our rides-esp longer ones
1) drafting someone like Michael helps
2) eat & drink well ahead of the event (helps a lot)
3) carry lots of water
Overhearing what doesn’t work
1) pedaling on your own, esp on a heavy mt bike
2) having one water bottle – or none
3) rock star & cigs for dinner
For all rides
1) learn/know the route
2) carry tools, tubes if possible
3) lights
4) ibuprofen (see below)
5) secure all carry on sweaters, lest they get caught in rear wheel, causing immediate full stop
Hats off to the “leave noone behind” mantra of the SJBP! Great group of 20-25 on the pre-ride!

I haven’t seen all those that commented on the “No Pants Ride Recap” or the 100s of veteran riders (4+ or esp 10+ rides) coming to the pre-rides or stepping up to be BIRDs. What’s up?

what about having people click through what would be like a license agreement to see the ride route? the “license agreement” would be that they agree not to ride like a kook (how we ride link) to se the route?

I signed up to volunteer a few weeks ago and haven’t heard anything back. I’d have been at the meeting but have only been on one SJBP ride. I’d be on the pre-ride this week, but since my offer to volunteer hasn’t been acknowledged I don’t know where it starts.
What’s up? Good question!

Last night’s pre-ride = awesome. Different kinds of riders, different paces, tons of open road and no drama!
Everyone who loves Bike Party should do these and consider volunteering. Let’s keep this thing alive and thriving!

Pre-rides are so much fun.
I have two friends who are about to become fellow BIRDS. Let’s start networking and get our friends to support the ride!
