Awesome Inspiration for a team Costume
It is a dark time for the
Rebellion. Although the Death
Star has been destroyed,
Imperial troops have driven the
Rebel forces from their hidden
base and pursued them across
the galaxy.
Evading the dreaded Imperial
Starfleet, a group of freedom
fighters led by Luke Skywalker
has established a new secret
base on the remote ice world
of Hoth.
The evil lord Darth Vader,
obsessed with finding young
Skywalker, has dispatched
thousands of remote probes into
the far reaches of space….
Get your lightsabers ready and shine up your stormtrooper suit as we get ready for March’s theme.

A big shout out to a mobilized and energized Mt View bicycling community for: takin’ it to the streets!

Injustice to a lawful and decent bicyclist anywhere, is a threat to all lawful bicyclists everywhere.

What a stupid theme, its St.Patty’s day weekend, wtf is with a Star Wars theme? You are gonna have retarded people trying to ride around with Stormtrooper & Darth Vader masks in the dark and people hitting people with light sabers, lets see how many bike crashes we get for the first SJBP of the year!

I think using St Patty’s day as a theme would encourage more boozing than normal. I mean, to each his own…but I think I have a valid point. I think SJBP gets enough heat already so minimizing the potential for negative association is definitely a goal and probably a idea thought through already. I think we should do a “white bike party” where everybody wears only WHITE or light colored clothing/shoes. As a group it would look really cool. Maybe we could call it Painters Bike party…you know because painters always only wear white…i dunno..the theme is cool, but the title needs work for sure. BIKE PARTY GOES PLATINUM…no? “White-Night Bike Party”
GOT IT! THE NIGHT OF WHITE!!!! thats it!!! Use it! cheers

As a person of color, this would make me uncomfortable without a disclaimer *No hoods or robes allowed. LOL

Haha! Dont you think a huge bike party where everyone wore just light colored clothing? A huge white blob of bikes?!!??!! That would look awesome I think. I opted for white and light colors because they’re easier to see at night.

C’mon guy, why does it have to get into racial stuff? I said white and light colored bike party because it would be cool to see a whole bike party that had a bunch of people drussed up in all white or light colored clothing…a big blob of white rolling by

Don’t let the Star Wars theme be lame! I will be riding like a Leprechaun Storm Trooper. (There were such characters in the original Star Wars movie that didn’t make the final cut. You can see them in the bar scene. Those leprechauns were a type of astral traveller in Irish folklore, usually taking the form of an short guy on a Townie, wearing green, drinking beer and throwing frisbees.)

Sorry to pass on a downer, but I just want to inspire all bicyclists to be utterly safe when you take to the streets.
The streets can be mean and unforgiven, even when a bicyclist does everything right
Be alert at all times. Never take safety for granted.
Ride defensively with a constant paranoid attitude.
Your survival could be at stake!

very sad situation and yet drivers still drive while distracted. the only time I feel 100% safe on the roads riding is during San Jose Bike Party. Safety in numbers.

Let’s make sure that we don’t burn down any trees this time or any other like behavior. We really don’t need bad publicity like that. Keep that stuff at home or don’t come at all!

The winter hibernation is over, and that means SJ Bike Party is about to feel the effects of… THE FORCE!
Yeah, the force of ever increasing numbers of the bicyclists attending Bike Party begins with this month’s ride, and will last all the way through the fall.
Once again the Bike Party Community needs to pull together to handle the expected huge increase in bicyclists.
The popularity of bicycling in the Bay Area is off the charts!
And it shows no sign of abating anytime soon.
In fact, even the folks, who like to put out press releases on bicycling numbers in the Bay Area are totally ‘funcused’ by the sudden explosion in numbers of bicyclists in just the past three years.
I think the SJ Bike Party Community Volunteers might consider the possibility of recruiting, and training more BIRDS early in the season to perhaps, boost head count, before the peak “massive summer ridership boom”?
We could also put out a call to all trained BIRDs to become active and return to the flock.
