The shirts aren’t being sold by bike party… i don’t think we are getting any of the profits.

Does it really matter? He is not the only person that sells anything during bike party cause I’ve seen others selling shirts too and no one is asking them for a donation. At least jcool asked permission and said he will be donating.

Sad to report Apples latest plan out today has ZERO bike lane access to Apple, removes bike lane acess for residents along Pruneridge, and has grossly incorrect bike lane design on exceptionally high volume entrances on TanTau. Tantau is one of the few bike friendly crossings over I280.. Sadly making TanTau and area terrible for cycling which was once decent and improving with recent bike laning of Pruneridge in Santa Clara. http://www.cupertino.org/index.aspx?page=1107
After SVBC and other efforts being ignored, one gets rather disgusted.
Now what to do?
I frankley do not believe and amount of letters will do anything. The only thought I have is have please let the San Jose Bike Party guys know, perhaps infinite loop and Tantau needs to be on the route regularily to raise wide awareness. There is a great east west legal route right though Infinite loop and up Tantau. Just like the Dutch did only mass rides really show support to save key routes! Can San Jose Bike party help? Please!

not sure who “jcool” is, but i’ve never seen so much blatant selling on the sjbp site, takes away from the sjbp vibe. we used to talk about rides, themes, vibes, behavior, lights, ride reflections and anticipations, etc. on sjbp. can we get back to that please?

Word, ive been riding 4 years and this section of SJBP was primarily a spot to reflect and remind.
“jcool” in a very un cool fashion has found a way to exploit SJBP for self profit, atleast the other vendors just show up and peddle product as it comes along with no self advertising and in sure do just as well.

Let’s hear about the follow up on your donation.
SJBP isn’t about self promotion for profit,

hey come on guys give jcool a break. i’ve been a avid rider on these bike parties for 5 years strong and i can honestly say we need people like jcool out there. i don’t know about you guys but there aren’t many people with “bike” theme apparel out there. and the convience he is providing for us riders to represent our hobby and love for bikes is not doing any harm. i’m sure he’s honest and will donate…let’s see

You guys are seriously out of control with this whole jcool guy. He has only posted a few times and everyone on here is making like he’s been posting continuosly and that’s not the case. And like “sjbp for life” said it’s actually pretty cool that he’s making apparel geared towards us bike lovers/riders because there’s none out there. Like jcool said he’s asked permission from the people within bike party and obviously got the ok or he wouldn’t be on here and that should be it. I could see if every other post was about the shirts he’s selling but it isn’t. So quit the nonsense and put downs because this should be a bike community not a bashing match. He said he’s willing to donate to sjbp and it shouldn’t matter how much, when, where, why, or how. He’s just spreading the word of the love for bikes/riding and if you don’t like you don’t have to buy it it’s as simple as that.

All right, this may be my first Bike Party on Dec16,11! I’m looking forward to it, but I still need to buy some lights for my giant mtn bike
(brand not size, lol) So are there people who ride at slower cruising speeds or is it just a race thing like I see in Morgan Hill?
jmd
December 10, 2011
There will be plenty of people riding at cruising speed! It’s not a race at all.

I love SJ Bike Party. I’ve been to about 15 over the past 3 years. Good clean fun.
I went to the SF Bike Party recently (1st Friday), Lots of fun, different vibe, very friendly and much more party atomsphere. Only about 12 miles, 3 stops and they really party at the stops. Some of you might enjoy it.
