It was nice to see a strong turn out even with the wet weather. One thing I did notice was the large police presence. They worked really hard to protect the riders from the cars – which was great. I can only speculate how many accidents we might have happened without police escort.
I did drop out as I got totally soaked. My hats off to those that made it to the end – riders & the police alike.
Got to do some fire arts (poi, fire breathing, fire eating) at the start point with a small audience crowding around. Was cool to share that passion with you guys. The police showed up right as i packed my performance gear (they probably would have simply asked me to stop, the codes around fire performance are so vague in most place’s thst thats all they can do) I must admit the heavy police presence kinda dulled down the vibe i fell in love with bike party for. There was this feeling of unified freedom and community. In 5 miles of riding id have all sorts of fun interactions with people. I got a lot of weird looks for saying hi to people on the ride. Decided to head home after the second regroup. Had an ok time though, and it was definitely fun sharing fire with ya. -your friendly neighborhood firecat
Hi can some one help me I lost my light last night at the starting point in the parking. I think it dropped by a white toyota car in front of the Boston Market. Is my only light, it would be awesome if someone found it and help get it back to me. It was a handle bar mount with a battery pack with red battery’s. Thank you so much I still had a great time last night in the rain.
Only my second ride and my friends flaked at the last minute because of the rain. I rode solo and ended up meeting a lot more people that way. Riding in the rain was a totally fun experience. The police did an awesome job and were very friendly, it was obvious they were there to work with us and not against us.
Great route, always enjoy going over the bridge. Rain was actually kinda nice, final regroup was surprisingly big considering. Thanks to all who braved to rain!
I had fun selling t-shirts and sweaters at the starting point. But i expected morte people to show up. I guess the rain scrared a lot of riders. I’ll try to go out there again next month if it doesn’t rain and I’ll have new designs aswell. Thanks to all that bought shirts/sweaters from me…..see you guys hopefully next month……Bike party rules……

Crossing over the 280 freeway on the Mary Avenue Bike Bridge in the dark of night was fun.
