Time to dig your old prom dress out of mothballs and get your tux cleaned up.
Blue ruffles really are back in style.

So stoked! I tried to e-mail: testrides at sjbikeparty dot org to RSVP. but it didn’t work. Ah well, no worries. Looking forward to TR#1, if any of my friends on fb could send me the route when it gets posted, I’d sure appreciate it.
Awesome theme, we can all do this!

A note on encouraging ‘how we ride’.
I had so much fun on TR#1 this past Thursday. The route was fantastic and truly exciting.
Big thanks to the organizers that do so much to make SJBP so great.
With the warm summer months rapidly approaching when our ridership swells and everything gets bigger, I wanted to share an event that happened on the test ride and how it turned out.
As we were riding along I noticed one of our cyclists riding with us doing some cool tricks on the wide city sidewalk along our route. Though I honestly was impressed with what he could do, I also knew that this isn’t, ‘how we ride’ as San Jose Bike Party. In a polite, respectful, confident tone I said, ‘Please don’t ride on the sidewalk.’ and just as soon as possible he rode over the curb and back into the lane we were in so I followed up my previous request with a ‘Thank you!’, and that was that.
I just wanted to share that and hopefully encourage you all because I know last summer when things went downhill there
was much discussion about how to call out bad behavior. Once again I’ve found I can get more bees with honey than I can with vinegar.
Hopefully as the summer comes upon us we can foster that sense of ownership we all had last September and October.
We all own San Jose Bike Party, let’s try to take good care of it this summer so we can continue to enjoy it for years to come.
Thanks,
David

I’d seriously consider wearing a prom dress on this ride if I could find one that fit. Odds on finding one are not good even though I’m in pretty good shape.

ebay!! Score an inexpensive prom dress in your size cruising through ebay! I hope to out bid mine! Spending less than $35 and then passing it forward.

I like how the Formal theme has morphed into Prom theme. Sounds like a gas! Worst prom song ever was at mine…”We will never pass this way again” by Seals and Crofts. Uggh, horrible!
