As one of the many volunteers that help make Bike Party work, I'd just like to encourage you *to* volunteer.

There are a bunch of really great people who give a lot of their time and effort to make Bike Party work so well and many who (like me) don't really do that much other than small, easy to do at the moment things.
Most volunteers I know really appreciate the opportunity to be able to 'give back' to something that has given our community as much as Bike Party has.

In a group this large it is understandable that not everybody agrees on everything. But the really amazing thing is that we can look past those disagreements and come together towards a common goal that benefits so many.
I know this last summer I was thinking, 'no way are they gonna solve these problems'. Surprise to me, the participants rallied and made huge strides towards fixing the problems that IMO were making BP odious to our community.
Is it perfect? No, of course not. Based on past experience do I think BP can continue to overcome the problems that arise in the future? Absolutely.
Being able to be part of the solution is enjoyable indeed, please do consider how you can volunteer to make BP even better still.

hey ridenaked,

There is a ride coming up JUST FOR YOU!

Click on 'Forum' at the top of this page.
Under 'General' select 'Get out and Ride'
Notice the Forum Topic
'Saturday, March 12 - 11:00am - 3:00pm - San Francisco - World Naked Bike Ride'

I probably won't be able to make it because I'm hoping to go on TR#3, but if you go, I've already made TWO spoke cards for the ride and you can have one of them.

My RSS reader just showed me a new post on CYCLELICIOUS about a blind cyclist killed in Illinois. At the bottom of the post it has a link to a previous entry titled

Tandem program for the blind at Palo Alto VA Hospital

A few of you have heard me mention interest in something like that but I didn't know a program already existed. If any of you know any blind people that are interested, please get in touch with me. In the mean time I'll see if I can find out more info about the program in Palo Alto.

Thanks,
David
