It’s almost time to Get Animated!
Hopefully you have you costumes all picked out and have some decent lights as we are going down some Really Dark Streets this month (no Street lights where we are going)
Details posted below.
The Route
Wheels hit the street @ 8!
Pre Rides
- North SJ/SC starting at rivermark peets leaving at 6:30 led by Ian
- Campbell – Led by???
please review how we ride
If you follow these eight rules, Bike Party will be safe and a positive place for riders, drivers, pedestrians, and the community
1. Stay in the Right Lane NEVER ride the sidewalk. NEVER ride against oncoming traffic.
2. Leave Nothing Behind
3. Stop at Red Lights.
4. Ride Straight, Ride Predictability.
5. Roll Past Conflict.
6. Leave No One Behind.
7. Ride Sober! It’s illegal and dangerous to ride a bicycle inebriated.
8. Communicate to Fellow Riders! (We need your help to remind those who aren’t following the rules!)

Hey Janette, everything you need to know is right here on the website. The answers to a lot of first-timers questions are here. Feel free to explore. If you have any more questions feel free to use our contact list.
Unfortunately, we do have a registration requirement … you must love riding your bike with others. If you can fulfill that, you’re in.

It’s possibly suggesting to come as your favorite cartoon character, wear an outfit that covered in cartoon images, dress as a group like a cartoon trio or decorate your bike like a famous cartoon cyclist or vehicle.
SJBP tries to leave a lot of it open-ended. Your creative interpretation might be way better than mine. In fact, I hope it is.

Where is the long-range forecast from our “in-house” Bike Party meteorologist? We need a scientific forecast for Friday night.
Heck, my local “brujo”, (witch-doctor), told me providence will be on our side, and there will be a 14 hour window clearance on Friday, so the Bike Party is on — full hilt!
The fact is “brujo’s” is accuracy is only 50% reliable, so, let’s keep our collective eyes on the weather reports and hope for the best.

I participated in several bike rides early last year before the ride event became private only and I would love to start riding again and become a volunteer on the bike routes. How do I get that information.
I really enjoy the bike rides and happy that there are serious riders.

We had a limited release of the route for only one month. We release the route about 24 hours in advance, so check back here tonight for more info. To volunteer, come out on a test ride or come to our monthly volunteer meeting.

Towards the top of this column, look for the link “Continue Reading”, which is between “Details posted below” and the “Comments” link – it’s kind of easy to miss.

I won’t be able to make it to this ride, a friend’s bridal shower is happening at the same time, but this month’s theme is a good idea.

More rain throughout today means LESS rain tonight!!! This is the tail end of the system so it’ll be unsettled, but there’s a great chance that when the sun goes down and stops heating these clouds from above, we’ll be treated to magical air and big-moon scenery as we cruise along easy streets. Did you see the moon last night?!?!!!

The hour-by-hour forecast shows a possibility of 0.02″ of precip around 9:00P and 11:00P tonight.

I really don’t like the wet, but I’m taking my chances this time.
It will be freeeeking cold, though, so I’m bundling up.

Look at the regonal radar images on Weather Underground for San Jose. Animate them. Looks to me like the chunk of rain in the area right now might be the last big one for tonight. Maybe another little one that’s in Monterey Bay right now will get to us before the start time but it looks good after that. Bundle up and let’s ride, ride, ride!!! What else you gonna do, watch TV??? History will record what you did tonight!

with the very cold/wet weather tonight, let’s all try to be extra vigilant to LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND.

Whether it rolls under threat of rain, or by “full-moon-shine”, Bike Party will always roll on time!
I will look very “cartoonish” — fashionably styled, if you will — in me Jamaican Yellow “Daffy Duck” poncho — at the ready — if we encounter any errant passing rain cloud.
I agree with RR — in that — rather than read about history or, watch it on TV, let’s go out and make some.
Let’s keep Bike Party rolling strong for long.
Bike Party forever!
