MARCH TEST RIDES
The feedback from our first March test ride is positive. Join us for a ride this week!
Anyone who has been on a test ride knows how much fun it is. A smaller crowd makes it easier to get to know people and it is a great way to gear up for the 3rd Friday event. We are always looking for people who want to ride bikes and help get our routes ready for future rides.
If you would like to help out and love SJBP please come out!

I’d like to attend, but the information is blocked in the provided links. I have no FB page.
Can you guys just post the start locations/end locations to each test ride?

Hey now bike party Admins!
This business of having to seek SJBP testride info by looking somewhere other than the SJBP webpage is really an interesting concept.
What if you don’t do FB?
Why isn’t the latest testride information front and center on the SJBP website?
I’m certain there is a good reason and think this would be a good time to either correct how information is made available or tell us why testride details (and other info or topics) aren’t here first (and FB as a voluntary, social networking alternative).
One web location for all things SJBP !
That’s what I’m talking about !
Simplify. LaVics has a point.

@Townie bill & LaVics
You both raise some valid concerns regarding information on the website. Mostly the choice to utilize Facebook for test rides is a way to overcome a technological challenge which allows us to manage groups of people and send information to them.
I am usually at the volunteer meetings each month if people want to talk to me and have experience with solutions that could benefit our website. I can also be reached via e-mail: johnm@sjbikepary.org

Quit being so pragmatic and… oh, so RATIONAL!
However; I throw me support to your “brilliant idea”:
That we should — and must — use the HIGHEST CUTTING-EDGE TECH to reach even the LOWEST TECH among us — within the SJBP community.
All relevant info should be first visible — front and centre — at the SJBP WEB homepage before being disseminated elsewhere — especially routes and test ride information.
What a concept, eh?

start and end spots are an excellent idea.
i think that there isnt full disclosure for a reason, however, such as that FB offers a more private forum to disseminate information that may be a bit sensitive, and therefore in keeping with the level of route “secrecy” already established, is the best not-quite-as-public-a-forum-as-here place to disseminate said info.
it seems to grant a preferable privacy while in the planning stages, so that when the actual ride happens, there is an air of mystery, as well as less a likelihood that some parts of our not as supportive community will not be aware of the ride until it happens.
imo.

Great group for such short notice. Thanks for bearing with the pace and short regroups. It’s tough stopping and going in the cold, right? My guess is that most of you are getting ready for the ride the limits ride. good job.
You guys and gals all brought some great “stuff” to the party at the bowling alley. (Yoshi brought my momma)
There were a lot of great suggestions and feedback throughout the ride. If you feel that there is something we might have missed please free to post it here or on sjbikeparty.org.
SJBP would love to see some of you join the flock and show up to the volunteer meeting next week at King of Campus on Wednesday March 10, 2010. “Own the ride”
Thank you all for making this a successful, fun, “warm”, quick night ride.
I will be updating with some feedback soon.

The pacing was great! I was pretty burned-out (mentally) from work but nothing beats a solid ride in the dark.

Great test ride Thursday with the quick pace… and great ride today with the spontaneous exploring. Good stuff.
I wish i could be at meeting this week but I’ll be out of town..
This ride’s shaping up to be really fun.
I think it was Scott that noted that the Almaden road section might present a problem because its dark and has only one lane. On our ride Thursday night we did notice that we had a couple of cars trailing behind us impatiently trying to get past us.

I really liked this ride. The pace was much more enjoyable than Thursdays ride. Nice weather and company. I was ready to ride further…
Looking forward to this Sundays 30 miler. Be careful with Daylight Saving Time coming up. It starts early Sunday morning…
