Wheels hit street at 8:00pm.
As nerds have shown us, everyone makes a difference!
From JustinT:
My take on the theme is high pants, bowtie, and taped up glasses, maybe suspenders —> or anything StarWars (sry guys) or 90′s video games style

What do you mean “inner nerd”? Haha. I remember our group suggesting this at planning meeting! See, volunteer meetings do matter!
This ride should be hilarious.

@highwayzone – good idea, but specific locations would be much more helpful

Aren’t a lot of the smaller gaming companies located in SF?
I’m not sure that these gaming companies are all that interesting, but here are some ideas:
Former Atari building: 1196 Borregas Ave, Sunnyvale CA (between Mathilda and Lawrence just north of 237)
EA – Redwood City – too far
Red Octane (developed Guitar Hero) – I think they were off Fair Oaks Ave in Sunnyvale. Might be close to the prospective route.
Namco/Bandai USA – 4555 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara, CA. This is the 6-story building that also housed ATI’s Santa Clara office
NVIDIA – San Tomas Expressway at Walsh

A couple weeks ago, a post was made about having a blog based just on SJBP themes. I thought it was a great idea. A place where Ppl could hype up the theme, like a rally before a game! haaha
Well, I’ve created a FB group page to try to this out.
*New FB Group Page – Everything San Jose Bike Party Theme*
My hope is that Ppl will post ideas for costumes, cycle decorations, etc… so that us non creative Ppl could participate more in the festivities. Its not limited, just post anything about the theme that comes to mind.
Nerds Rock in Feb! !!!

SJ Police Chief Rob Davis was on KLIV last night when a caller asked about groups of bicyclists riding around downtown late at night. I don’t think she was referring to bike party but the chief clearly responded as if she was. He likened it to a critical mass type situation being imported from SF with the intent of tying up vehicle traffic. He did not sound pleased that officers were having to take time away from more critical duties to perform traffic control fro this event.
Just thought the ride organizers should be aware of how the police view bike party.

i have to say, i am vastly disappointed that a specific movie was chosen as the theme. i have heard a few films mentioned as themes, but whenever i have heard those suggestions at planning meetings, i have been quick to point out the fact that not everyone will have seen it, and that goes directly against the idea of bike party being inclusive to all. i have even pointed this out at mentions of some of my favorite films (i.e. rocky horror). i have not seen revenge of the nerds. i can’t imagine that everyone who rides has. and i can’t imagine that everyone who rides with us enjoyed the film. and before someone comments, “well why don’t you just go rent it?” i like many, can not so much afford to be renting movies. i will be riding, but i will not be riding in theme.

@Sam Z
The theme was not chosen with the specific movie in mind. We wanted to post the information for the community to get an idea of the overall vibe. Look for our artwork and more details as we draw closer to this month’s event.
