Thanks to all the Bike Partiers that helped organize, volunteered, and biked to the movies! The night was successful, bikes stayed locked to their respective sign posts and garbage cans, and the '80s cheese was enjoyed by all. Seeing Kevin Bacon on his fixie/single speed/ten speed, racing through the streets of NY/SF/LA, was inspiring for us all. I hope everyone went home and enjoyed a good bike dancing session with a loved one. See you all again on the 12th of November for Breaking Away!

There will not be formal organized bicycle parking at the movie theater because SVBC claims there isn't funding in the budget for the event, and won't use funds that are in broader budget items that ought to include such expenses. Also, just by asking a buck a bike donation for every bike parked, the permit fee would be raised.

With the hundreds of bikes that will be there, let's have shifts of informal bike watchers to keep an eye on everyone's locked parked bikes. A handful of us taking 20 to 30 minutes shifts outside should be able to keep it covered.
Just knowing there are eyes watching will dissuade most potential thieves.

Anyone else up for volunteering with me?
